1 Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and BinaryAbyssinia ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), governing your access to and use of the Mesob Recipes website located at mesob.binaryabyssinia.com and the Mesob Recipe App on iOS and Android platforms (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing, downloading, or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all terms, you must immediately discontinue using the Service.
2 Description of Service
Mesob Recipes is a digital culinary platform dedicated to preserving, cataloging, and celebrating traditional Ethiopian and Eritrean dishes, beverages, fasting (የፆም) cuisine, and spices. Features include:
- 177+ traditional recipes with step-by-step cooking directions and ingredient lists.
- Bilingual translation across English and Amharic (አማርኛ) culinary terminology.
- Interactive dynamic portion & serving size scaling calculator.
- Mobile offline recipe bookmarks, printing support, and kitchen timers.
3 User Conduct & Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service exclusively for lawful, personal, non-commercial culinary enjoyment. You agree not to:
- Systematically scrape, harvest, extract, or republish our recipe catalog, ingredient database, or images for commercial resale or competing databases.
- Decompile, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of our mobile applications.
- Attempt to bypass security controls, attack server endpoints, or transmit malicious code.
- Circumvent or tamper with in-app purchase validation, ad delivery mechanisms, or subscription entitlement checks.
4 In-App Purchases (IAP) & Mobile Subscriptions
StoreKit & Play BillingCertain enhanced digital features of the Mesob Recipe mobile application—such as an Ad-Free Experience, exclusive chef collections, or offline culinary guides—may be offered via one-time In-App Purchases (IAP) or auto-renewing subscriptions.
- Renewal Timing: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annually) unless auto-renew is cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the conclusion of the current billing cycle.
- Renewal Charge: Your Apple ID or Google Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current standard price of the selected plan.
- Free Trial Forfeiture: Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription to that product.
- Managing & Canceling: You can manage, modify, or cancel your subscription at any time via your device account settings:
iOS: Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Mesob Recipes
Android: Google Play Store > Profile Icon > Payments & Subscriptions
5 Advertising & Third-Party Content (Google AdMob)
AdMob TermsThe free tier of the Mesob Recipes mobile application and website is supported through advertisements served by Google AdMob and certified advertising networks. By using the free tier of the Service, you agree that:
- Advertisements may appear in banner, interstitial, or opt-in rewarded video formats during your culinary browsing experience.
- You may permanently remove all third-party advertisements across the entire application by purchasing the Mesob Pro / Ad-Free Pass in the app settings.
- BinaryAbyssinia does not curate, endorse, or guarantee third-party commercial offerings displayed within advertisements. Interacting with or purchasing from third-party advertisers is conducted entirely at your own risk.
6 Culinary, Health & Allergen Disclaimer
Important Culinary & Food Safety Notice:
All recipes, nutritional notes, preparation times, and dietary labels (such as Fasting / ፆም, Vegan, or Gluten-Free) are provided for general educational and informational enjoyment.
- Food Allergies: Traditional Ethiopian cooking frequently uses specific spices, fenugreek, hot chili (Berbere / Mitmita), legumes (lentils, split peas), sesame, peanuts, and Teff. Users must exercise personal judgment regarding allergies or medical restrictions.
- Raw & Rare Dishes: Traditional dishes such as Kitfo or Gored Gored may call for raw or lightly cooked beef. Consuming raw or undercooked meats may increase the risk of foodborne illness, especially for vulnerable individuals.
- Cooking Safety: Cooking times and spice tolerances vary. Always practice standard kitchen safety when working with hot oil, open flames, clay pots, and sharp utensils.
7 Intellectual Property
The visual designs, logos, custom food photography, bilingual textual translations, curated master ingredient database, and application code are the exclusive intellectual property of BinaryAbyssinia and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and unfair competition laws. You may print individual recipe sheets for personal home cooking use, but unauthorized reproduction or digital redistribution is strictly prohibited.
8 Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BINARYABYSSINIA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR ACCESS TO, USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE OR PREPARED RECIPES.
9 Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal disputes arising out of or related to these Terms shall be resolved before the competent courts of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
